SI or Semantic Infiltration is a core aspect of the tactics and strategies used by those who seek to reshape society in the mould of Secular Humanistic thinking.

Semantic Infiltration and How to Combat It

Semantic infiltration (SI) is a phenomenon of language that occurs when certain people deliberately replace one word or phrase deemed offensive with another term that better frames and strengthens their point of view.

With the help of the Courts, Media, Academia and even the Church they successfully circulate, popularize and legitimize SI jargon to establish their frequently anti-Christian agenda.

An early modern example of SI comes from the Cold War era, when the Soviet Union deployed terms like "wars of national liberation", their real purpose being "global conquest". Since then the use of SI has proliferated, especially in the moral sphere. Designer terms like "sexual diversity training" have been fashioned to obscure a hidden agenda.

Like a Trojan horse, these code-like words release moral presuppositions and values into the minds of people who use them that are contrary to the Judeo-Christian ethic.

Some examples of SI are quite obvious, such as replacing "Christmas lights" with "holiday lights", or "Merry Christmas" with "Happy Holidays". Other examples are harder to spot, such as the substitution of "unborn baby" with "fetus", or "sexual behaviour" with "sexual orientation". Still others are very subtle, stretching the definition of a positive phrase like "human rights" to accommodate and justify abortion and homosexual behaviour.

Yet each example demonstrates an attempt to displace our Judeo-Christian heritage.

Those who would expunge the word "Christ" from the season clearly do not recognize Jesus as "the Way, the Truth and the Life". A non-theistic, evolutionary view of humankind shapes the thinking of people who regard the unborn child as merely a "fetus". And other activists replace "behaviour" with "orientation", in their strivings to legitimize non-marital sexual activity, audaciously declaring it their "right".

Armed with their linguistic missiles, these deconstructionists have penetrated deeply into the moral fabric of our culture.

Look no further than the term "same-sex marriage", an oxymoron loaded with the devilish notion that the status of marriage - God's covenantal, foundational and mystical relationship between one man and one woman - could actually be granted to a sodomite relationship. Unwittingly, even proponents of Biblical marriage use this term in arguing their case against it. But employing the devil's language can never advance the cause of Christ. Far more effective to treat SI jargon for the linguistic poison it is - leave it alone!

In the context of Christian apologetics, that means, for example, using "participant in homosexuality" instead of "gay" or "lesbian" and "anti-life" instead of "pro-choice". As we seek to persuade the culture about the claims of Christ, let's employ language that respects and articulates Biblical revelation. Isaiah 55:11 reminds us that the Words of God Almighty will not return to Him empty.

Below are 22 terms that represent semantic infiltration to varying degrees. For each term I offer a brief description of its destructive agenda and a corrected 'translation' that seeks to be faithful to Biblical truth:

1. "Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms": various judicial interpretations of this potentially beneficial, yet imperfect and ambiguous human document have facilitated state approval of the concept of "sexual orientation", with its attendant effects (see below) = "Human Code of Conduct"

2. "equalities": fosters the notion that all persons are equal, regardless of qualification, so that marriage can be redefined to include homosexual pairs = "qualifications-free access"

3. "fetus": has facilitated an acceptance of abortions on demand / murder of millions of innocents = "unborn baby"

4. "gay" / "lesbian" / "bi-sexual" / "transgendered": these words have facilitated the unfounded notion that homosexuals are a distinct class deserving special rights and protections = "participant in homosexual acts"

5. "Happy Holidays" / "Seasons Greetings": part of a systematic effort to de-Christianize the season = "Merry Christmas"

6. "hate propaganda (laws)": this phrase, enshrined in Section 319 of the Criminal Code of Canada, has helped foster a climate of fear which mutes public opposition to homosexual conduct and non-Christian religions, especially in the context of evangelism = "silencing legitimate opposition (laws)"

7. "homophobic": perceived as a negative label marking people who oppose homosexuality, often silencing them = "against homosexual behaviour"

8. "holiday lights": part of a systematic effort to de-Christianize the season = "Christmas lights"

9. "human rights": homosexual activists have stretched the meaning of this otherwise positive phrase to include the license to engage in activities the Bible calls sin, such as homosexual behaviour = "human license (to sin)"

10. "identifiable group": this phrase, enshrined in Section 319 of the Criminal Code of Canada, has helped perpetrate the notion that people engaged in homosexual sin deserve protection from those who publicly oppose their lifestyle, because they allegedly possess distinguishing features comparable to people of race = "sinful lifestyle protection group"

11. "inclusive": often interpreted as acceptance of non-marital sexual lifestyles, with no compulsion to repent = "acceptance without repentance"

12. "intolerant": perceived as a negative label marking people who oppose homosexuality, often silencing them = "opposing destructive behaviour"

13. "multi-cultural": often perpetrating the notion that Christian-based cultures are no better than non-Christian-based cultures = "equality of cultures"

14. "National Daycare": fosters the concept that state employees can care for a child at least as well as their parents, but increasing the risk of family destabilization and anti-Christian indoctrination = "government controlled child-rearing"

15. "pluralistic society": has cultivated the notion that all sub-cultures and religions in a society are equal, thus reducing Christianity to being no better than non-Christian worldviews = "non-distinctive society"

16. "politically correct": has exerted pressure from government, media and academia to adopt a frequently anti-Christian worldview = "biased-against-Christianity worldview"

17. "pro-choice": has shifted the focus of the abortion issue from a woman's responsibility to protect her child to a false concept of the right to choose = "anti-life"

18. "same-sex couple": is being deployed to legitimatize the pairing of two homosexuals by equating it with marriage = "homosexual pair"

19. "same-sex marriage": is being deployed to legitimatize the pairing of two homosexuals by equating it with marriage = "homosexual relationship"

20. "sexual diversity training": fosters the perception that that opinions expressed which oppose homosexuality are dangerous and require correction = "sexual immorality acceptance training"

21. "sexual orientation": "through Charter readings and "hate" laws inclusions, this phrase has quickly facilitated our culture's recognition of homosexuals as a distinct class and the legitimatization of homosexual conduct" = "unlawful sexual behaviour"

22. "woman's rights": "often interpreted as human permission to engage in activity the Bible calls sin, especially killing a pre-born baby" = "women's license (to sin)"
